Sonokinetic EMP Mark II is a sampled Rhodes Mark II electric piano that runs in Kontakt 7 Player. If you’re looking for a good-sounding free electric piano and don’t want the hassle of installing a full Kontakt library, this one is hard to beat. It’s expertly sampled, and the on-screen controls cover the essentials. The built-in chorus makes it a great fit for R&B or neo-soul work, and adding some saturation gives it the edge needed for rock or funk.
Sonokinetic’s interface is clean and almost too minimal, but I don’t mind it. The sound is what matters here.
