OrilRiver is the best free reverb plugin you can download right now. It is a versatile, feature-packed, and great-sounding stereo reverb effect that is on par with some of the best commercial reverbs on the market. It delivers beautiful hall reverbs and impeccably simulates the reverberation of smaller rooms, making it my go-to reverb effect in most mixing scenarios. Besides its excellent sound quality, OrilRiver offers a surprisingly well-organized user interface.
The control layout makes it super easy to tweak the reverb’s dimensions and tone in a few mouse clicks. I love how customizable the sound is. OrilRiver lets you choose between twelve early reflection models and five types of reverb tails with additional room size, diffusion, damping, and modulation controls. It also includes a 3-band equalizer for shaping the reverb’s color and tone. Two GUI skins allow users to choose between lighter and darker color schemes.
I prefer the esthetics of the light skin pictured above, but the dark mode is excellent for late-night mixing sessions. The CPU hit is unusually low for a high-quality reverb plugin. ).
