” MiniSpillage is a drum synthesizer (not a sample player) with three dedicated algorithms: BassDrum, ElectroHiHat, and WoodDrum. I’m still disappointed they didn’t offer their snare engine instead of the WoodDrum, but that’s understandable. The sounds it generates have a character that sample-based plugins can’t replicate. Important caveats: MiniSpillage is Mac-only (AU format) and hasn’t been updated in years. 1 added Apple Silicon support in 2024, but MiniSpillage’s M1/M2 compatibility is unclear and may require Rosetta 2.
Windows users will need to look at ChowKick or other drum synths instead.
